Types de Curriculum Vitae
Before assembling the components of a resume into a cohesive document, you must determine the format. The format indicates the plan for organizing the material or arranging the information on your resume page. There are three styles or types of resumes: chronological, functional and blended.
The chronological CV
The chronological resume is the most commonly used format and is arranged by date; the information is presented in reverse chronological order. In other words, it lists your most recent job, including achievement statements at the top of the page, followed by your other jobs up to the first. This is effective when your work experience is continuous and when your most recent job is directly related to the positions you are applying for.

The functional CV
The functional format categorizes your background according to your skills and areas of expertise. It lists your accomplishments, under headings, at the top of the page and provides a summary of the jobs you have held, your employers and dates of employment at the bottom of the page. This presentation is effective when you are changing careers and want to promote your early or recently acquired skills.

Le CV mixte
The blended resume begins with a career summary, a description of your functional skills, a series of accomplishments or career highlights. This is followed by your chronological work history. This blended approach can make a resume very powerful. Use this style when your greatest accomplishments are not your most recent. This presentation style is effective when you want to highlight your various accomplishments, functional experiences and career advancement.
